FORTIS aims to establish an External Pool of Experts (EPE) to support the review and selection process of the proposals we receive under our Open Call #1: Boosting development of the FORTIS solution. The EPE gather a set of recognized experts in human-robot interaction technical domains selected through an open call process to ensure transparent and consistent evaluation of the applications.
Experts should show a demonstrated understanding and proven track record in the technical areas corresponding to the FORTIS Open Call #1 addressed topics:
Experts will be evaluated based on their professional experience and expertise in the aforementioned areas, as well as previous experience in evaluating proposals submitted to EU and FSTP programmes.

The FORTIS project is an EU-funded initiative that addresses the development of a solution to help and support the human at work and provide additional ability to the whole workforce. The robot technologies are one of the key-enabling technologies that provide such support. In more detail, human-robot interaction (HRI) is an essential aspect for deploying robots to support humans while keeping the human-in-the-loop. Nonetheless, the challenge in the interaction with the human should be holistic and encapsulate all human interaction aspects. Thus, the consortium of FORTIS aims to provide a solution that allows robots to interact with humans in a human-like way for long periods of time.

What is expected from potential evaluators:
The services to be provided will be done remotely and will involve the evaluation of a selection of applications submitted to the FORTIS Open Call #1.
The evaluation process consists of:
Evaluators selected to participate in the evaluation will be required to sign a non-conflict of interest declaration and a contract with the FORTIS project, before being accepted to evaluate any application
Remuneration
Selected evaluators will be reimbursed for their time and effort based on the number of applications evaluated, with each application corresponding to a value of €50 considering all the services required.

Please note that this expression of interest to participate in the FORTIS Open Call #1 evaluation as an external expert is NOT binding and does NOT constitute any commitment to the FORTIS project.
The selection of the experts to support FORTIS in the evaluation of the Open Call will be taken at a later stage, since it depends on the number of received proposals, their origin, the domain that they target as well as the origin of the potential evaluators, their affiliations, their expertise and the balance between various criteria (e.g. gender, background, affiliation type, age, expertise etc.). Furthermore, we are obliged to frequently change experts that support in the evaluations of proposals.
